Pizza Hut Calling
Fancy copping a look at Mick Jones' leftover pizza boxes from his days on the road with The Only Band That Matters? I can't help but feel that the B.A.D. man was the Bill Wyman (as in ephemera-gathering pack rat) of the Clash. All is explained here.

Facebook Fun With The Clash

You know what I hate? Those shonky Facebook quizzes that ask silly questions to establish what punk rock figurehead you are. Ex-Clash member Mick Jones apparently took one:
Onetime Clash guitarist Mick Jones is publicly expressing doubts about the accuracy of the Facebook Quiz application after the results of the "Which Punk Rock Star Are You?" quiz revealed he is Joe Strummer.
You can ready all about it - and Paul Simonon's witty riposte - here. And as he's a Pommy, Simonon really should know that the Queen's English has the term as "arsewipe".
So can anyone tell me if the Shea Stadium live album is any good?

A conversation with Bob Gruen
New York snapper Bob Gruen's one of rock and roll's premier photographers, as much for being on the spot at the right time as being adept at capturing the essence of his subjects. Some of his most famous subjects have been the New York Dolls, the Ramones, the Pistols, Blondie, The Clash and John Lennon. There's an interview in Crawdaddy online here where he reveals a lot of his best photos were captured spontaneously (as many of the greatest are.) He also sounds like the sort of bloke you'd like to have a beer with.

Clash conveyer belt keeps flowing
Psst, Clash fans: Coming down the pipeline: A live at Shea Stadium CD, a live DVD presumably culled from other shows and a book on The Clash by The Clash (i.e. a transcript of a previously issued documentary.)
Is too much Clash barely enough? Ex-drummer Topper Headon doesn't think so and tells Billboard as much here. Interesting read.
Personally, the last live compilation Clash CD was a bit of a snore and even the deluxe edition of "London Calling" with the demos appended wasn't essential as the songs in their formative stages were exactly that. I'd settle for a complete, killer live gig - which the Shea Stadium clearly isn't, judging from Topper's assessment and the footage that's surfaced to date.

The Stems meet The Clash (sort of)
Informed word at the Dom Mariani newsgroup is that the Stems guy is planning to re-start DM3 and take them to the USA. More immediately, however, he's playing with ex-Cortinas/last gasp Clash member Nick Sheppard in a band called DomNick. Sheppard re-located to Perth a few years ago and the project is heading to the studio.
